Legislative Strategies for Wildlife Conservation

Hosted by the Oregon Chapter of The Wildlife Society. Learn how ideas become laws, how to advocate for conservation, and how to communicate effectively with policymakers.
The workshop will start with a 15 minute crash course of the Oregon legislature in the context of conservation, followed by a longer discussion with a panel of experts about tangible entries to policy work. We will have coffee and light breakfast snacks!
What Happens Next? Exploring Research Outputs Beyond the Thesis

This session highlights opportunities for translating graduate research into public‑facing outputs beyond traditional academic publications. A panel of practitioners working in storytelling, community‑engaged scholarship, and related fields will share their experiences, followed by breakout discussions. Snacks and beverages will be available.
